Quote Unquote: Looking For Alaska

Quote Unquote is a series of posts of my favorite quotes from certain books. Today I am doing Looking For Alaska by John Green. While this wasn't my favorite book, I think it had some great quotes.

~“When I look at my room, I see a girl who loves books.”

~“What the hell is that?" I laughed.
"It's my fox hat."
"Your fox hat?"
"Yeah, Pudge. My fox hat."
"Why are you wearing your fox hat?" I asked.
"Because no one can catch the motherfucking fox.”

Quote Unquote: Thirteen Reasons Why

Quote Unquote is a series of posts of my favorite quotes from certain books. Today I am doing Thirteen Reasons Why by Jay Asher. This is book is full of emotional quotes and moments. I had to try not to cry while reading it.

~“ If you hear a song that makes you cry and you don't want to cry anymore, you don't listen to that song anymore. But you can't get away from yourself. You can't decide not to see yourself anymore. You can't decide to turn off the noise in your head.”

~“I hope you're ready, because I'm about to tell you the story of my life. More specifically, why my life ended. And if you're listening to these tapes, you're one of the reasons why.”

~“You don’t know what goes on in anyone’s life but your own. And when you mess with one part of a person’s life, you’re not messing with just that part. Unfortunately, you can’t be that precise and selective. When you mess with one part of a person’s life, you’re messing with their entire life. Everything. . . affects everything.”

~“No one knows for certain how much impact they have on the lives of other people. Oftentimes, we have no clue. Yet we push it just the same.”

~“A lot of you cared, just not enough.”

~“Maybe it didn’t seem like a big deal to you Zach. But now, I hope you understand. My world was collapsing. I needed those notes. I needed any hope those notes might have offered. And you? You took that hope away. You decided I didn’t deserve to have it. ”

What is your favorite quote from this book? They're just all so sad T.T

Quote Unquote: The Angel Experiment

Quote Unquote is a series of posts of my favorite quotes from certain books. Today I am doing The Angel Experiment by James Patterson. This is the first book in the Maximum Ride series and I absolutely loved it. It was a bit sad and serious some times, but there were definitely a couple lines that had me laughing.

~“'Man, You weigh a freaking ton! What have you been eating, rocks?'
'Why, is your head missing some?'”

~“I feel like, like pudding," Iggy groaned. "Pudding with nerve endings. Pudding in great pain.”

~“Feeding a crowd?' the woman behind the counter asked.
Yes, ma'am ,' Fang said sweetly.
Yeah, him and all his split personalities, I thought.”

Quote Unquote: The Evolution of Mara Dyer

Quote Unquote is a series of posts of my favorite quotes from certain books. Today I am doing The Evolution of Mara Dyer by Michelle Hodkins. This is the second book in the Mara Dyer series. Gahhh this book! Such a cliffhanger.

~“Everyone is a little crazy. The only difference between us and them is that they hide it better.”

~“I knew Noah worshipped Charlie Parker and that his toothbrush was green. That he wouldn't bother to button his shirts correctly but always made his bed. That when he slept he curled into himself and that his eyes were the color of the clouds before it rained, and I knew he had no problem eating meat but would stubly leave the room if animals started to kill one another on the Discovery Channel. I knew one hundered little things about Noah Shaw but when he kissed me I couldn't remember my own name.”

Quote Unquote: Sever

Quote Unquote is a series of posts of my favorite quotes from certain books. Today I am doing Sever by Lauren DeStefano. This is the last book in the Chemical Garden trilogy. I really liked this book and I thought it had some very quote-able lines.

~“I never wanted to live forever," she says. "I just wanted enough time.”

~“We'll squeeze every second that we can from our lives, because we're young, and we have plenty of years to grow. We'll grow until we're braver. We'll grow until our bones ache and our skin wrinkles and our hair goes white, and until our hearts decide, at last, that it's time to stop.”

~“It isn’t a perfect place. There are no perfect places. But nobody cares about perfection when there are sand castles to build and kites to chase, children that are being born, old hearts that are giving in.”

Quote Unquote: Shatter Me

Quote Unquote is a series of posts of my favorite quotes from certain books. Today I am doing Shatter Me by Tahereh Mafi. I loved this book and Tahereh Mafi's writing is so poetic!

~“The moon is a loyal companion.
It never leaves. It’s always there, watching, steadfast, knowing us in our light and dark moments, changing forever just as we do. Every day it’s a different version of itself. Sometimes weak and wan, sometimes strong and full of light. The moon understands what it means to be human.
Uncertain. Alone. Cratered by imperfections.”

~“I spent my life folded between the pages of books.
In the absence of human relationships I formed bonds with paper characters. I lived love and loss through stories threaded in history; I experienced adolescence by association. My world is one interwoven web of words, stringing limb to limb, bone to sinew, thoughts and images all together. I am a being comprised of letters, a character created by sentences, a figment of imagination formed through fiction.”

Quote Unquote: Delirium

Quote Unquote is a series of posts of my favorite quotes from certain books. Today I am doing Delirium by Lauren Oliver. I loved this whole series. Lauren Oliver's writing is just so beautiful!

~“It's so strange how life works: You want something and you wait and wait and feel like it's taking forever to come. Then it happens and it's over and all you want to do is curl back up in that moment before things changed.”

~“I love you. Remember. They cannot take it”

~“Love: a single word, a wispy thing, a word no bigger or longer than an edge. That's what it is: an edge; a razor. It draws up through the center of your life, cutting everything in two. Before and after. The rest of the world falls away on either side.”

"He'd burn the whole world down till he could dig you out of the ashes. I know," Alec said.”

~“You may have the worst timing since Napoleon decided the dead of winter was the right moment to invade Russia.”

Quote Unquote: The Fault in Our Stars

Quote Unquote is a series of posts of my favorite quotes from certain books. This time I am doing The Fault in Our Stars by John Green. This book was amazing!!!! I smiled, laughed, and definitely cried.... more like bawled. I even teared up a bit retyping these. And it was infinitely hard to narrow these down but I manged to get it down to ten. This book was an emotional roller coaster but I loved it. There were many inspirational and touching quotes and these are some of my favorites:

~“I'm in love with you," he said quietly.
"Augustus," I said.
"I am," he said. He was staring at me, and I could see the corners of his eyes crinkling. "I'm in love with you, and I'm not in the business of denying myself the simple pleasure of saying true things. I'm in love with you, and I know that love is just a shout into the void, and that oblivion is inevitable, and that we're all doomed and that there will come a day when all our labor has been returned to dust, and I know the sun will swallow the only earth we'll ever have, and I am in love with you.”

Quote Unquote: City of Fallen Angels

Quote Unquote is a series of posts of my favorite quotes from certain books. So far my other two "Quote Unquote" posts have been on this series, but it just has so many great quotes!

In no particular order: “It’s a joke, Isabelle. He’s the Count. He likes counting. You know. ‘What did the Count eat today, children? One chocolate chip cookie, two chocolate chip cookies, three chocolate chip cookies . . .’”
There was a rush of cold air as the door of the restaurant opened, letting in another customer. Isabelle shivered and reached for her black silk scarf. “It’s not realistic.”
“What would you prefer? ‘What did the Count eat today, children? One helpless villager, two helpless villagers, three helpless villagers . . .”

"No. We've been punching her in the face repeatedly. What? You don't think that will work?”

Quote Unquote: City of Bones

So, I thought I would do a new series with my favorite quotes from books. I will try not to include spoilers. To start off with I'm doing City of Bones, and I might end up doing this whole series because these books definitely have some funny and lovable moments. So without further ado; my favorite quotes from City of Bones, by Cassandra Clare:

In no particular order:

~ “Don't." Clary raised a warning hand. "I'm not really in the mood right now."
"That's got to be the first time a girl's ever said that to me," Jace mused.”
