Stages of Grace: Author Interview & Giveaway

Stages of Grace
Carey Heywood

Denial, Anger, Bargaining, Depression, Acceptance...

When facing death a mourning period is to be expected. But what if it's
not a person but a relationship that dies? Grace and her boyfriend Jon have
been together for three years. They live together and have shared many
beautiful memories. Those memories are what keep Grace from admitting Jon
has changed and is no longer the man she fell in love with.

Afraid of being alone and holding on to something that no longer exists
Grace is a shadow of her former self. Her daily objective is to hide her
pain from the world. Then, an unexpected letter sets off a whirlwind of
potential life changes. In life sometimes the hardest thing to do is let go.

Author Interview
1. Hey there! Can you start by telling us a bit about yourself?
I'm a goofball, I tend to approach difficult situations with humor and try not to ever take myself too seriously. I'm married to another goofball and we have three silly kids and a dog. I suck at home improvement and am not allowed to watch HGTV anymore. I've washed my flash drive in my laundry more times than I can count, but it still works!

2. Besides writing, what do you like to do in your free time?
I read a lot, Amazon one click is my BFF. I have hermit like tendencies so I try to leave my house and hang out with friends as well. I also LOVE to kayak.

3. What part of writing do you like the most?
I love it when the characters take over. This novel was not supposed to have a romance element when I originally planned it.

4. What advice would you give to aspiring authors?
Ask questions, join Twitter. There are tons of authors willing to help or offer feedback. Feel free to reach out to me, I'm willing to help.

5.When you were little what did you want to be when you grew up?
A marine biologist, which is funny considering my fear of big boats and most sea critters.

6. Do you have any siblings?
I have two sisters and a brother.

7. Who is the first person you call when you have a bad day?
Jamie

8. If you could jump into a book and live in that world, which would it be?
The Anne of Green Gables series by L.M. Montgomery

9. What are some of your favorite books? Do you still have time to read?
I love to read, just read this great book called Neanderthal Seeks Human by Penny Reid. I also love the Experiment in Terror series by Karina Halle. Another all time favorite is After Forever Ends by Melodie Ramone. I have gone straight up fangirl on each of these authors.

10. Tell us in one sentence, why we should read your book.
I hope this novel inspires readers to take chances (nothing crazy!) and not settle, which while scary can lead you to where you are meant to be.
