The first line or couple of lines set a tone for a book. They can pull you in or make you put the book down. This a series of posts with first lines that got me hooked. Delirium Lauren Oliver
"It has been sixty-four years since the president and the Consortium identified love as a disease, and forty-three since the scientists perfected a cure"
Shatter Me Tahereh Mafi "I have been locked up for 264 days"
Two books that I really enjoyed :) I really need to continue with both of these series! I have the sequel to them, but have yet to start them. Great post :)
I've tried reading both of these and disliked them both, but they do have amazing opening lines! They make me want to try again, but I've tried two or three times to read them already so I don't think I will- for some reason they just feel stale and I can't get into them. This is a really great feature!
