Reboot #1
Amy Tintera
Five years ago, Wren Connolly was shot three times in the chest. After 178 minutes she came back as a Reboot: stronger, faster, able to heal, and less emotional. The longer Reboots are dead, the less human they are when they return. Wren 178 is the deadliest Reboot in the Republic of Texas. Now seventeen years old, she serves as a soldier for HARC (Human Advancement and Repopulation Corporation).
Wren’s favorite part of the job is training new Reboots, but her latest newbie is the worst she’s ever seen. As a 22, Callum Reyes is practically human. His reflexes are too slow, he’s always asking questions, and his ever-present smile is freaking her out. Yet there’s something about him she can’t ignore. When Callum refuses to follow an order, Wren is given one last chance to get him in line—or she’ll have to eliminate him. Wren has never disobeyed before and knows if she does, she’ll be eliminated, too. But she has also never felt as alive as she does around Callum.
The perfect soldier is done taking orders.

Quotes:
""Try not to scream when I brake your bones. It bothers me. You can cry if you want; that's fine."
He burst out laughing. I didn't realize that was a funny statement.
"Got it," he said, trying unsuccessfully to cover his grin. "Screaming, no. Crying, yes""
""Right, I'll let you shower" He grabbed the edge of the curtain, the humor back in his eyes. "or I could stay"
A little yelp escaped my mouth. "I...um..." Yes. And no. I felt sick.
"I'm sorry," He said with a chuckle, holding up his hands. "You look horrified. I was mostly kidding"
“He turned to me. His expression was serious, but I liked how it softened slightly when he looked at me. Like the way he looked at me was different from how he looked at everyone else.”

My Thoughts:
This was a really original take on zombies, and I think Tintera did a great job with that. I also really liked the main character, Wren. She was super bad ass, and while she gained feelings during the book, after being pretty unfeeling, she still remained tough and didn't turn into a pile of goo when the cute guy, Callum, came. Well, not a incapable pile a goo at least. I really liked the romance in it though. I thought that aspect was cute, maybe a little to much at times but it didn't bother me. This book was entertaining and I read it in one sitting. There wasn't really anything I didn't like about it. That being said, somehow I can bring myself to give this five stars. But you should still definitely read it!
Hmm.. This book is on my TBR but I don't really have any sudden urges to read it so I think I'll put this off for a while :) Good review, Sydney!

The synopsis is different from the last time I read it! Now I see where the zombie aspect comes into kick. And i love the sound of the whole "reboot" thing that she has on. ^^
