Series Spotlight: The Wolves of Mercy Falls

The Wolves of Mercy Falls
Maggie Stiefvater

For years, Grace has watched the wolves in the woods behind her house. One yellow-eyed wolf--her wolf--is a chilling presence she can't seem to live without. Meanwhile, Sam has lived two lives: In winter, the frozen woods, the protection of the pack, and the silent company of a fearless girl. In summer, a few precious months of being human . . . until the cold makes him shift back again. Now, Grace meets a yellow-eyed boy whose familiarity takes her breath away. It's her wolf. It has to be. But as winter nears, Sam must fight to stay human--or risk losing himself, and Grace, forever.

"Stiefvater leaves the faeries of Lament and Ballad for a lyrical tale of alienated werewolves and first love . . . her take on werewolves is interesting and original while her characters are refreshingly willing to use their brains to deal with the challenges they face.” -Publishers Weekly, starred review

“This sequel’s poetic prose skillfully captures the four teens’ longings for love, forgetting, remembering, righting wrongs and life itself. The riveting ending will leave readers panting for the next sequel.” - Kirkus

[F]illed with suspense, sorrow, and just enough romance…” - Seventeen Magazine

What I Think
This was a great series with romance and suspense at every turn.

Have you read any of these? If so, what did you think?

  1. Your blog is seriously cool so I have nominated you for Libester Awards, to find out more go to

  2. I loved the first one, shiver but as the series went on I began to lose interest... I think i hated the feeling that everything seemed to be against sam & graces romance.

  3. I have only read the first one (Shiver), but I really enjoyed it! Now that you've reminded me about how much I enjoyed it, I'll have to pick up the next book! :D

  4. I've read all three, and honestly... I wasn't a huge fan. I just didn't really like the characters I guess. The only one that I really cared about was Cole.

However, I did love Scorpio Races and Raven Boys by Stiefvater. I almost didn't give those books a chance. So glad I did.
