Review: Fracture Me

Fracture Me
Shatter Me #2.5
Tahereh Mafi

As Omega Point prepares to launch an all-out assault on The Reestablishment soldiers stationed in Sector 45, Adam's focus couldn't be further from the upcoming battle. He's reeling from his breakup with Juliette, scared for his best friend's life, and as concerned as ever for his brother James's safety. And just as Adam begins to wonder if this life is really for him, the alarms sound. It's time for war.

On the battlefield, it seems like the odds are in their favor—but taking down Warner, Adam's newly discovered half brother, won't be that easy. The Reestablishment can't tolerate a rebellion, and they'll do anything to crush the resistance . . . including killing everyone Adam has ever cared about.

Rating: 3/5

My Thoughts:
Fracture Me takes place toward the end of Unravel Me and is told in Adam's point-of-view. At the end of Unravel Me I was definitely leaning to words Warner. After this novella...still Warner. At first I just preferred Warner over Adam. But now I actually dislike Adam.
I think having Fracture Me be from his point-of-view was supposed to let us get to know Adam better but nothing he did made me like him. He was rude and condescending towards Juliette, if only in his thoughts. So in all I didn't love it. I get that it was somewhat needed to show what happened to Kenji and everyone else at the end of Unravel Me, I just wish it had been from a different point of view. I'm still rooting for a novella from Kenji.
Even though the actual novella was sub-par, buying it was totally worth it if only for the first two chapters of Ignite Me. It was pretty short but oh my god it was so good. If it was possible for me to be more excited for Ignite Me then I am.

  1. I didn't allow myself to read this book because I am also Team Adam ;) Adam just keeps rubbing me the wrong way the more the series goes on.

    1. I actually was leaning toward Adam in the first book but the more I read the less I like him. If you are a fan of him, it is probably a good idea to stay away from this one.

  2. Here's my ship history with this series: Team No One (Shatter Me), Team Warner (Destroy Me), Team Warner (Unravel Me). I swear Adam just rubs me the wrong way all the time. In Unravel Me, he just seemed a bit psychotic and unstable to me. He's also really clingy and keeps trying to hang on to Juliette. Talk about desperate. Juliette also has feelings for him though. Just ugh basically. I think I'll still read Fracture Me to try and get to know Adam better. If it gets a bad rating from me, it's all on Adam lol.

    1. I totally agree with the Adam thing. There is just something about him I can't help but not like.

  3. I haven't read anything in this series but I am so in love with the new covers. I am also jealous of all the excitement that lovers of the series have when a new one is coming out. I just might have to give these books a go, and be wary of Adam apparently!

    1. The covers are really pretty! Though I do wonder how the covers with the dresses would have progressed...
