Book I Read For School

So for me school is fast approaching and I am just not ready to go back. I know a lot of schools don't start until September, but where I live school starts in August. So, while thinking of posts I thought I should do something school related. I decided to do this because it interests me what books people have to read for school. Luckily, not all the books I had to read were super boring, but I did get a fair share of those.

Books Almost Everyone Reads:

The Giver
Lois Lowry

This is a classic book, though I didn't particularly like it, that the majority of people had to read for school, or at least had a teacher recommend it.

Bud, Not Buddy
Christopher Paul Curtis

Okay, so this one I'm not sure if everyone reads this but I had two different teachers make me read this so I would think it is a popular book for teachers.








Books That Were Painful To Read:

The House On Mango Street
Sandra Cisneros

I don't remember much from either of these books, which tells me two things: 1. They weren't memorable at all, 2.I probably didn't even finish them. This book is probably okay, but I literally don't remember anything besides it was boring.


The View From Saturday
E. L. Konigsburg

This one I am pretty sure was the better of the two, but still totally unmemorable.






Book That Were Actually Enjoyable:

Because of Winn-Dixie
Kate DiCamillo

I remember this was one of those books that you read in class and then watched the movie. This was a good book and with little kids (I read this in 3rd grade) if you bribe them with a movie, of course they will read.

Three Cups of Tea
Greg Mortenson

I'm pretty sure this was a autobiography.....well not really. I don't know exactly what to call it, but this is the authors account of his humanitarian journey. It is actually a very interesting story.
